Testing & Inspection

We don’t just offer you first-rate engineering services, maintenance and central station monitoring at Integrated Protection Services. We’re working to make where you live, where you work, where you play and quite possibly the whole world a safer place. The systems we engineer, service and maintain are meant to protect you, your coworkers, your family, and your property. If an emergency situation were ever to arise, you need a system that would function in such a situation. That’s why we offer on-going testing and inspection for every system we engineer at IPS.

All of our IPS staff is trained and certified in their respective areas of work. Many of our technicians have obtained National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification up to Level IV. We are fully licensed for fire alarm and sprinkler work in both Ohio and Kentucky.  Our professionals are fully trained and licensed individuals who complete all tests in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) standards. We work to make the world a little safer and don’t cut any corners during our tests and inspections.

IPS can help you create an inspection program which will make sure your facility is maintained in full life-safety compliance. We can accommodate your location’s requirements, such as testing during off-hours and weekends. All results are documented along with any required or recommended repairs. We also offer the convenience of being able to consolidate all your inspection requirements with one proven vendor.

Fire Alarm Systems

Annual fire alarm inspections are required by NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. Every component of the system is individually tested to the manufacturer’s specification to determine its current functional state per code requirements. We are competent at testing all makes and models of fire alarm systems.

Sprinkler / Fire Pump / Backflow Systems

Water-based systems have their own unique requirements for testing, inspection, and maintenance largely dependent upon the individual system’s configuration. Valves, piping, sprinkler heads, tamper switches, fire pumps, private hydrants, and backflow prevention devices all have inspection requirements per NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems. Required inspections range from monthly to every five years. Let us worry about the dates and tests so that you can focus on your business.

Special Hazard Suppression Systems

Imagine the cost to your business if your servers, telecommunication equipment, and other critical electronic systems were damaged in a fire. Would you have to shut down operations for days? Weeks? Longer? With the rise of these sophisticated electronic systems over the recent decades, the demand for protecting them from a fire with extinguishing agents that don’t damage the system like water would has likewise grown. IPS has a team with the special training and knowledge to inspect these advanced systems, making sure they are in working order when you need them most.

Extinguishers

Portable fire extinguishers offer the first line of defense in firefighting. Just like other systems, they have annual and multi-year inspection requirements. The team at IPS inspects these units and performs routine maintenance, making sure that they meet all code compliance requirements.

Compliant Reporting

Fire marshals, building inspectors, internal risk management departments, and insurance companies require documented inspection reports. These serve to prove compliance with state and local fire and building code requirements. IPS partners with BuildingReports, an industry leader in online compliance reporting, to provide much of our inspection documentation. Our electronic reporting program stores your testing reports online for you to access them any time you need them. We provide you with login information so viewing your reporting program is secure.
